My goal is to obtain a Capcom Bowling arcade machine. I chose this goal because i feel that it would be an adequate stepping stone in collecting arcade machines. I also chose it because i have always wanted an arcade machine, and i love Capcom Bowling. To achieve my goal, I will need to raise about $150 dollars to purchase the arcade machine. Next, I will need a place to put it. Finally, i will need to talk to my mom about it (as you can imagine, arcade machines are heavy and take up space). I hope to reach my goal by the time I am finished with my senior year of high school.
I chose to create this tool because I have always been fascinated with video games, and what better way to express that than with an arcade machine? I have always wanted an arcade machine, even though I have always had a ton of home video games. The tool also pushed my ability to construct, which is good for me, considering I am not very gifted in the trade of construction (even if it is with mat board). I will display my vision tool on the nightstand in my room.. Every night, I will deposit change into the machine and tally it up. I chose this location because it will be seen by others, and it will encourage me to save my money.
When I was building my vision tool, i did (surprise, surprise) run into some problems. First, the whole construction piece was pretty tough. It was an easy fix, though; I just needed to overlap the mat board when I cut it to make identical pieces. The other problem I had is when I was making the header (the part that says "Capcom"); it was sagging pretty bad, but i made some mat board strips to support it, and it actually worked pretty well.
I had fun with this project. It taught me that I will need to solve problems with my art, and the tool turned out pretty good. It might take a while, but I know that I will soon have a Capcom Bowling arcade machine in my possession.
